Lynne Van Dam

Lynne Palmer Van Dam is the Producer, Writer, and Director of the movie Drury Lane. The circuitous career path she traveled to get to this position has been filled with fascinating and varied experiences. Movies, theatre, and dance have from those early years taken front stage in her life. As a teen, she played ingénue roles in community theatre and continued on to earn a B. A. Degree in Theatre Arts from Brigham Young University where she practiced her craft with diligence and spontaneity.

During her undergraduate years she worked hard behind the scenes learning the basics of all facets of stagecraft, lighting, etc. Plus, she loved acting in and directing plays, as well as dancing in and choreographing many University productions. In her senior year, she won the best actress award for her performance of Juliet, in the Shakespearian production of Romeo and Juliet.

Leaving the protective world of campus life, she dove head first into the Avant-Garde milieu of Anna Halprin’s Dancers Workshop of San Francisco. She danced professionally with the company for three years, culminating in a European tour and performing in the company’s productions of The Five Legged Stool and Expositione . While in Europe, she also performed in Kenneth Dewey’s production of The Gift, which was presented in Paris, France.

Back in the USA, Lynne earned an M. A. Degree from the University of Utah in Ballet and Modern Dance with a multiple emphasis on the Creative Process in Theatre, Psychology, and Literature. She again danced professionally with the Ririe/Woodbury Dance Company of Salt Lake City.

During the years of performing and academia, her fascination with film continued to nudge her in the direction of the movies. She worked on the crews of a number of films and produced short educational films and documentaries for TV. As a Screen Actor’s Guild Member, she continued her professional acting career performing in movies shot in Utah and performing in TV and Radio commercials.

The lure of the cinema continued to draw her creative ambitions. Studying film production at the University of Utah paved the way for her stories to be told visually. The U of U Film and Media Arts Dept. also hired her to teach Acting for TV and Film. She has taught for many years, gaining incredible inspiration from her students. As she encouraged them to work hard and take risks, they in turn supported her goal to make movies. Thus, Drury Lane became a reality.

Kristen Murphy

Kristen grew up in Walla Walla, Washington where she was very involved in Children's theatre. Every summer she was in a theatre camp which brought her tremendous joy. She was lucky enough to play The Cheshire Cat, Wendy, Pinocchio, and Dorothy. Later, in college, she was cast as Anne Frank, which was an honor.

Kristen met Lynne when she took her acting class. During that time she was a stay at home mom for two years and was looking for adults to talk to. For some reason, Lynne thought she was special and cast her in Drury Lane. The filming of this movie was a magical, stressful, wonderful learning experience.

Now that she has survived her daughter's teenage years, she can start looking to do some acting again. Fingers crossed.

Alex Harris

A multi-disciplinary artist & musician both professionally and after hours, Alex came to Drury Lane to work on a couple visual effects clips, and went on to record, re-record, edit, color, and be a general fixer of things. He also scored the film, working with Lynne to shape the movie’s theme based on the original Muffin Man nursery song. His work spans more than 10 years professionally, with web, local, regional, and national live action & motion graphics commercials, radio, and more comprising his day job.

An old macintosh computer sitting in the back office of his junior high library was the start of his education in film, sparked by both a love for movies, and a disinterest in certain forms of homework. Self taught from the beginning, he shaped his school path into a decided career from an early age, grounding himself into making a living doing what he loves.

Christell Farnsworth

After a career with the State, getting an invite to assist in making Drury Lane was just the coveted opportunity she was hankering for. Talk about a 180 from a state job! She put her life experiences to work and helped with a most creative project. What a challenging learning experience it was, and what a family it turned out to be. One of the best experiences of her life. This led to other crew and assisting jobs as well.

All through childhood she danced and seemed to always have paper and pencil to draw and design. As an older adult she learned to weave, and continues to do so contentedly with her bagpiping husband, and Newfoundland, Watson.
